This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, north central Kansas, and northeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for areas along and southeast of a line from Holton to Wamego to Council Grove until 7 pm CDT this evening. Heat index values could be around 105 and 110 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely tonight across north central and northeast Kansas with the potential for storms to shift to a more southerly track. Some of these storms may be capable of producing damaging winds and very heavy rain.

Sunday through Friday The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
