Southern Jewell County in north central Kansas
Western Mitchell County in north central Kansas
Eastern Osborne County in north central Kansas
Southeastern Smith County in north central Kansas

Until 1215 PM CDT Thursday. IMPACTS
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 522 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that a few rounds of moderate to heavy rain since early this morning has dumped as much as 2-5 inches across much of the area, with the overall-highest amounts over central and southwestern Jewell County. At least minor/nuisance flooding of various rural roads and low-lying areas is likely to occur, and was confirmed to have occurred earlier today in Jewell County by emergency management. At least portions of the Warning area could receive at least another 1-2 inches before rain eases up later this evening, and additional rain could fall during the day Thursday before rain completely ends for several days. Area creeks and rivers will also experience at least noticeable within-bank rises, but actual flooding of main rivers is less certain. This areal Flood Warning effectively replaces the previously- issued Warning valid until 9 PM this evening for southern Jewell County. - This includes the following streams and drainages

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Portions of north central Kansas, including the following counties, Jewell, Mitchell, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks and Smith and Nebraska, including the following counties, Adams, Buffalo, Clay, Dawson, Fillmore, Franklin, Furnas, Gosper, Hall, Hamilton, Harlan, Kearney, Merrick, Nuckolls, Phelps, Polk, Thayer, Webster and York. Through Thursday afternoon. IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage and intensity through the evening hours. Cumulative rainfall totals of mainly 2-4 inches are expected with higher localized amounts of 4-7 inches possible. Some uncertainty still exists with northern extent of the heavy rain, but latest model trends suggest the greatest risk for the high end rain amounts will be southeast of a line from Holdrege to Doniphan to Osceola. Although some areas will not experience flooding, scattered instances of flooding and even considerable flash flooding are possible due to training thunderstorms, especially across areas still saturated from heavy rainfall last week. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight. Periodic rounds of rain and thunderstorms will continue through the day. Cumulative rain totals of 1 to 3 inches are likely across most areas south of Highway 30, and some localized areas may see total rainfall amounts closer to 4 to 5 inches, most favoring areas south of Highway 6 into north central Kansas. A Flood Watch remains in effect for areas generally along and south of Highway 30 through 7pm Thursday. This afternoon and evening, there is the potential for a few thunderstorms to be strong to severe, mainly for areas near and south of a Hebron, Nebraska to Phillipsburg, Kansas line. Localized flooding, damaging wind gusts, and even a few tornadoes will be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
