This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Kansas, south central Kansas, southwest Kansas, and west central Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Dense fog will reduce visibilities to less than 1/4 mile through noon today. Please refer to the latest TOPNPWDDC for more information. Tonight there will be a chance for elevated thunderstorms will be possible across southwest Kansas. A few of these storms tonight may be strong or marginally severe east of a Ashland to Pratt line with the main hazard tonight being hail up to the size of quarters.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday Low humidity and gusty winds on Thursday and Friday afternoon will result in elevated to critical fire weather conditions across portions of southwest Kansas, especially west of highway 83. Late Thursday and Thursday night there will be a chance for severe thunderstorms along and east of a dryline that currently is forecast to be located between Garden City and Dodge City. The main hazard from these storms will be large hail and strong damaging winds. Conditions are also favorable for a 10% chance or greater for hail to be larger than 2 inches along the Oklahoma border. On Friday there will be a chance for severe thunderstorms across south central Kansas. Large hail and strong damaging winds will again be the main hazards.
