This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Nebraska and portions of north central Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight. Heat indices from near 100 to 108 degrees are forecast across the local area this afternoon
and a heat advisory is in effect for Rooks, Osborne and Mitchell counties where the most oppressive values over 105 degrees are expected. A small chance for thunderstorms returns to parts of the local area tonight with a small chance for a strong thunderstorm north of Highway 92.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees are expected across areas mainly along and south of the Nebraska/Kansas state line Wednesday afternoon. Better thunderstorm chances return to the entire forecast area Wednesday evening through Monday. Some of the storms Wednesday night could be severe with hail to the size of quarters and wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH. && More information may be obtained at the following web page: https://www.weather.gov/hastings
