This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Marginal hail risk. Limited lightning risk. Limited excessive rainfall risk DISCUSSION
Scattered storms will develop overnight, mainly north of Interstate 44. A few storms may produce hail up to the size of quarters in this area north of Interstate 44. Frequent lighting and brief heavy rainfall will also be possible. A stronger round of thunderstorms will arrive near or just after sunrise on Wednesday.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. A cold front will move through the region on Wednesday/Wednesday night bringing a Marginal to Slight Risk (1 and 2 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms along and east of Highway 65. Locally heavy rainfall and isolated flooding will also be possible. Another system will move through the region late this week into the weekend. Thunderstorms will once again form along and ahead of the front. Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will likely occur with this late week system.
