This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this morning over mainly central Kansas, and this afternoon over portions of east-central and southeast Kansas. Not everyone will see a shower or storm, and severe weather is unlikely. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop later tonight, mainly along and south of Highway 56, and along and east of Highway 14. Quarter size hail and 60 mph winds may accompany the strongest activity, along with locally heavy rainfall.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday Thunderstorms may linger over far eastern Kansas into Monday morning. Periodic thunderstorm chances are forecast to continue across the region from late Tuesday through at least next weekend, with the highest chances generally during the evening, nighttime, and morning hours. A few instances of severe weather are possible. Periodic triple digit heat indices are expected today through next weekend, highest during the afternoon and early evening hours over mainly southern Kansas.
