Heat index values around 100 to 115 degrees will persist across the area again this afternoon and early evening. The Extreme Heat Warning continues through today. Thunderstorms will occur across portions of the area this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph will be possible in the strongest storms. The greatest threat and coverage of severe weather is expected along and north of a line from Nevada to Lebanon to Rolla.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday. Heat index values of 100-110 are possible Tuesday and Wednesday. Thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday night and Wednesday night. There is a low end severe risk with these storms, but confidence in details is low.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
