This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, south central Kansas and southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight A few showers and thunderstorms will continue across central Kansas through the early morning hours. The strongest activity will be capable of gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall. Heat indices in the 105 to 110 degree range are expected again today, with the most severe impacts across south-central and southeast Kansas. Additional thunderstorms will develop this evening across portions of south-central and central Kansas. A few strong storms will be possible with gusty winds remaining the primary threat.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday Heat indices in the 105 to 110 degree range are expected again on Sunday across far southeast Kansas. Thunderstorms will remain possible on Sunday and Monday, with western and central Kansas having the best coverage. A few strong storms will be possible through the period. Heat indices between 100-105 degrees are expected to return on Tuesday afternoon and early evening across much of central and eastern Kansas.
