This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight. Weather hazards expected
Limited lightning risk. Elevated Fog risk. DISCUSSION
A warm front will lift into the area tonight with the potential of some scattered thunderstorms along and north of the front. The main risk will be with cloud to ground lightning and possibly some pea size hail with any stronger storms. Areas of fog will develop tonight, especially east of Springfield. Visibilities may be reduced to one mile or less at times.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Tuesday through Sunday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur on Tuesday, mainly northwest of I-44, a few strong to severe storms will be possible with hail up to quarters the main risk. A cold front will move through the region on Wednesday/Wednesday night bringing a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms along and east of Highway 65. Locally heavy rainfall and isolated flooding will also be possible. Another system will move through the region late this week into the weekend. Thunderstorms will once again form along and head of the front. Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall will likely occur with this late week system.
