This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of east central, north central, and northeast Kansas.
DAY ONE
Tonight There is a marginal risk for thunderstorms tonight. An isolated thunderstorm or two could develop through 10pm and be capable of damaging downburst winds and torrential rainfall.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Saturday through Thursday An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for areas along and south of a line from Concordia to Holton through Saturday. Heat index values could be between 105 and 110 degrees. Thunderstorms are likely Saturday night across north central and northeast Kansas. These storms may be capable of producing damaging winds and very heavy rain.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
