This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east central Illinois and southeast Illinois.
DAY ONE
Tonight. A broken line of thunderstorms will advance across east-central and southeast Illinois through this evening
primarily impacting locations along and southeast of a Hoopeston to Taylorville line. Widespread severe weather is not expected: however, a few of the strongest cells will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts of around 60mph and hail larger than quarters. Minor flooding is ongoing along the Wabash River.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday. Typical summertime heat and humidity will return to central and southeast Illinois early next week as heat index readings climb above 100 degrees by Monday and Tuesday. Minor flooding will continue for several days along portions of the Wabash River.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation may be needed through 10pm this evening. Expected storm motion is toward the southeast around 30 mph.
