Showers and thunderstorms will expand in coverage this evening and overnight, particularly for areas near and north of I-80. Torrential rainfall may lead to instances of flash flooding.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday. Sunday
Elevated Flooding Risk, mainly in the morning. Limited Thunderstorm Risk. High Swim Risk Lake Michigan Beaches. Monday and Tuesday

High Swim Risk Lake Michigan Beaches. DISCUSSION
Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms will be possible, mainly on Sunday morning with a continued flood threat. River rises are likely, particularly on parts of the Rock, Fox, DuPage, Des Plaines, and Illinois Rivers into next week. Persistent northeast winds will maintain high waves and dangerous swimming conditions at Lake Michigan beaches in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana through the middle of next week.
