This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west central Illinois.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Heat indices of 95 to 105 are expected this afternoon. A thunderstorm complex will move through central Illinois from mid morning through afternoon. Damaging winds gusts up to 70 mph are the primary threat, through a couple tornadoes and isolated large hail cannot be ruled out. Storms may linger in southeast Illinois through early this evening.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday. Heat indices of 95 to 105 degrees are expected to stick around through Sunday. Daily chances for thunderstorms and heavy rain exist through the weekend. Some of these storms could be severe through at least Friday.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation will likely be needed from mid morning through this afternoon. Expected storm motion is toward the east-southeast at 40-50 mph.
