Portions of central, east central, and west central Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, De Witt, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Peoria, Piatt, Stark, Tazewell and Woodford. In east central Illinois, Champaign and Vermilion. In west central Illinois, Fulton and Knox. WHEN
From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through late tonight. IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- A narrow band of showers and/or thunderstorms are forecast to set up in a west-east orientation across central IL, where the flooding and very heavy rain occurred late last week, this afternoon into the late evening. DAY ONE
Tonight. Scattered thunderstorms will affect the area through tonight. Isolated damaging wind gusts and locally heavy rain are the primary hazards. Due to previous heavy rain, several area rivers are in flood.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Scattered storms will linger over the area Wednesday. Gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall are the primary hazards, mainly south of I-70. Several rivers will remain in flood this week.
