This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west central Illinois.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Heat indices of 95 to 105 are expected this afternoon, which could result in heat-related illness with extended exposure. A conditional threat for severe thunderstorms exists from late morning into afternoon. Damaging winds gusts (potentially in excess of 75 mph) and locally heavy rain are the main hazards, though a couple tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Additional storms are possible later tonight, though the coverage and intensity will be lower.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Heat indices of 95 to 105 degrees are expected Wednesday afternoon. Daily chances for thunderstorms and heavy rain exist through the weekend. Some of these storms could be severe through at least Thursday.
