Saturday through Thursday A prolonged heat wave will continue to produce dangerously hot and humid conditions. The Extreme Heat Warning continues throughout the Quad State through Saturday. Please refer to it for details. The extreme heat, low humidity, and rapidly drying vegetation may result in increased fire starts through the holiday weekend and into next week. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon mainly over the Evansville Tri State and the Pennyrile region of west Kentucky. Brief downpours, and lightning will be the primary concerns, but a few storms could produce damaging winds, especially over southwest Indiana.
