DAY ONE
TODAY AND TONIGHT Impactful heat will continue across the area today and tonight. Peak heat indices of 100 to 110 are expected. Heat headlines continue for the entire area. Isolated strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening, and again toward Friday morning, mainly north of Interstate 80. The primary is damaging winds with hail a secondary risk.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY The impactful heat and humidity will continue Friday and into the holiday weekend. Peak heat indices of 95 to 105 are expected. There is a daily risk of isolated thunderstorms with areas north of Interstate 80 being favored. A few of these storms may be strong to severe. The primary risk is damaging winds with hail a secondary risk.

Spotter activation is possible this afternoon and evening, and again late tonight for areas north of Interstate 80.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
