This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east central Illinois, southeast Illinois and west central Illinois.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. Temperatures will reach the lower to mid 90s today, and while humidity levels will be lower than the recent heat wave, heat related illnesses will be possible with prolonged exposure.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Wednesday through Monday. Wednesday will be hot and more humid, and heat index values around 100 degrees are likely. Thunderstorms will be scattered during the day, becoming more widespread during the evening. A few of the storms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts and hail. The rain will continue overnight into Thursday morning, with a widespread 1 to 2 inches likely. Areas near and south of I-70 have a 30 to 40 percent chance of seeing more than 2 inches of accumulation.
