This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Illinois, east central Illinois and west central Illinois.
DAY ONE
Today and tonight. South to southwest winds will strengthen today, peaking late this evening and overnight with gusts up to 50 mph.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday. Winds will veer to northwesterly Friday morning but remain strong through the morning with gusts up to 50 mph. Winds will slowly taper through the afternoon. A strong cold front is expected to move across the region Sunday. Showers and storms, possibly strong, are possible ahead of the front Sunday. Behind the front, rain will change over to snow as temperatures drop sharply. Minor accumulations appear possible. In addition, sub-zero wind chill values are possible Sunday night and again Monday night.
