Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following areas, Carroll, Henry IL, Mercer, Rock Island and Whiteside and Iowa, including the following areas, Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Henry IA, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Widespread rainfall is expected to continue through much of Thursday, with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible. Some areas have already seen upwards of 1 to 3 inches through Wednesday. The cumulative effects of this rainfall will result in rises along area rivers, along with the potential for areal flooding. The threat for flash flooding is low.

DAY ONE
TODAY AND TONIGHT Periods of moderate to heavy rain will continue to fall through the morning, especially for areas north of Highway 30 in Iowa, decreasing in coverage through the afternoon and evening hours. Additional amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be possible through today. While hourly rainfall will average a quarter of an inch or less most hours, this long duration rainfall could lead to flooding of fields, ponding of water on roads and poorly drained areas, and cause rivers to rise. A flood watch has been issued for much of eastern Iowa and portions of northwest Illinois through this evening. Area rivers are experiencing flooding. FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.
