This afternoon and tonight An isolated thunderstorm is possible this afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not anticipated.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday Chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms are highest during the morning to mid-afternoon time frame tomorrow across a large part of the state. Severe weather is not anticipated. Additional storm chances continue into next week. The heat index will approach 100 degrees in some areas on Sunday afternoon and likely into mid-week as well. Plan ahead for an extended period of heat and humidity.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation will not be needed. && NWS Des Moines will discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook product (HWO) on September 30th, 2026. Weather hazards and outlooks will continue to be provided through the standard forecast channels, including weather briefing packets, forecast discussions, weather story graphics, the experimental graphical hazardous weather outlook, and updated hazard messaging.
