Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Several rounds of rain have brought 2 to 6 inches of rain to central Iowa this week. Additional rain this afternoon and evening will occur as storms push through. The combination of saturated soils and high rainfall rates may overwhelm capacity, which will increase flooding potential.
