Today and tonight Hot and humid conditions will bring the Heat Index up into the 90s today. Isolated thunderstorms are expected today and tonight. The threat of severe weather is generally low, a strong storm or two cannot be ruled out.

Tuesday through Sunday Hot and humid conditions will bring the Heat Index up into the 90s most days this week. Thunderstorm chances are forecast at times this week, mainly during the overnight and morning hours. The threat of severe weather is generally low, but a few strong storms cannot be ruled out.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation is not anticipated. && NWS Des Moines will discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook product (HWO) on September 30th, 2026. Weather hazards and outlooks will continue to be provided through the standard forecast channels, including weather briefing packets, forecast discussions, weather story graphics, the experimental graphical hazardous weather outlook, and updated hazard messaging.
