Until 100 PM CDT Thursday. IMPACTS
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 203 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include
Blair, Harlan, Missouri Valley, Logan, Woodbine, Underwood, Fort Calhoun, Neola, Shelby, Minden, Earling, Kennard, Persia, Modale, Panama, Magnolia, Portsmouth and Washington. - This includes the following highways

Portions of southwest Iowa, including the following counties, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie and Shelby and Nebraska, including the following counties, Butler, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders, Seward and Washington. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Prolonged rain falling on saturated soil could lead to flooding in the coming days. Total rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are expected in many locations through Thursday, with localized amounts topping 5 to 6 inches for some. - For flood safety information, visit weather.gov/safety/flood.
