PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. DAY ONE
TODAY AND TONIGHT Hot and humid conditions will be seen across the area today. Peak heat indices of 95 to just over 100 are expected. Little relief is expected at night. A Heat Advisory remain in effect for areas south of Highway 30. Thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and tonight. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal, level 1 out of 5, Risk of severe storms for the Highway 20 corridor. Damaging winds and hail are the primary risks.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY Heat and humidity will continue through the work week and potentially into the weekend. Peak heat indices of 95 to just over 100 are possible. A Heat Advisory continue through Thursday for areas south of Highway 30. A near daily risk of thunderstorms will be possible north of Interstate 80. Right now no severe storms are anticipated.

Spotter activation is possible this afternoon and tonight in the Highway 20 corridor.
