This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.
DAY ONE
This afternoon and tonight Patchy fog is possible over southeastern Iowa tonight into early Friday morning.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday There is a conditional risk of severe weather across northwest Iowa late Friday evening into Friday night. The primary risk is gusty winds. More widespread thunderstorm activity, along with localized heavy rainfall, will return this weekend into next week. The specific severe weather risk will continue to refined in the coming days.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation will not be needed. && NWS Des Moines will discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook product (HWO) on September 30th, 2026. Weather hazards and outlooks will continue to be provided through the standard forecast channels, including weather briefing packets, forecast discussions, weather story graphics, the experimental graphical hazardous weather outlook, and updated hazard messaging.
