northwest Illinois
west central Illinois
east central Iowa
northeast Iowa
southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri.
DAY ONE
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT Isolated thunderstorms will be seen this afternoon and possibly again tonight, especially along and north of Highway 30. No severe storms are expected, but brief heavy downpours are possible from the stronger storms.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY Hot and humid conditions will return for much of the work week. The peak of the heat currently looks to be Tuesday into Wednesday. Heat indices will range from the mid 90s to over 100 along and south of Interstate 80 where a Heat Advisory is now in effect. A near-daily risk of thunderstorms will be possible along the edge of the heat dome. Thunderstorms, some potentially strong, are possible Monday night and again on Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal, level 1 of 5, Risk of severe storms along and north of Interstate 80 for Monday night and Tuesday. Damaging winds and large hail would be the primary threats.
