west central Illinois
east central Iowa
northeast Iowa
southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri.
DAY ONE
THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM for areas along and south of a line from Sigourney, Iowa to Aledo, Illinois. Isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and tonight. The entire area is in a marginal, level 1 out 5, risk for severe storms. If a severe storm would occur, damaging wind would be the primary risk.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY Rounds of strong to severe storms will again be possible Wednesday and Thursday as the area remains in the active storm track. There is a Marginal, level 1 out of 5, Risk for severe weather for the portions of the Outlook Area both days. Locally heavy rain and flooding will also be a concern. There will continue to be an almost daily chance for thunderstorms into the upcoming weekend.

Heat indices may briefly exceed 105 degrees in some areas. Thunderstorms and storm outflow may also interrupt the high heat at times.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
