Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. A few storms may be strong to severe across north GA, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday
Heat index values will exceed 100 degrees for much of the area again on Sunday. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected Sunday afternoon and evening. Several storms may be strong to severe, capable of producing damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta. Please relay any information about observed severe weather to the NWS.
