DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight
A Heat Advisory remains in effect for much of north and central Georgia through tonight as both temperatures and humidity will remain elevated. Please exercise caution if outdoors and check on vulnerable neighbors. Isolated to scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be possible today. A few storms may be severe. The primary threat will be damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and heavy rain.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday
Hot and humid conditions will persist through the weekend, with heat indices in the triple digits each day. The Heat Advisory continues through 8pm Saturday. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon through the weekend into next week. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be primary storm threats.

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Overnight temperatures and humidity will remain elevated, providing little relief for vulnerable populations. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Highest heat index values will occur from late morning through late afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
