DAY ONE
Today and Tonight
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon across the area with the main threats being gusty winds, small hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall. A Heat Advisory is in effect for portions of central and east Georgia from 1 PM to 8 PM EDT on Thursday for heat index values between 105 to 108 degrees.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Friday through Wednesday
Hot and humid conditions will persist through the weekend, with heat indices in the triple digits each day. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon through the week. Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be primary storm threats.

Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta. Please relay any information about observed severe weather to the NWS while following all local, state, and CDC guidelines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
