Southeastern Escambia County in northwestern Florida
Southern Okaloosa County in northwestern Florida
Southern Santa Rosa County in northwestern Florida
WHEN
Until 300 AM CDT. IMPACTS
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- At 1206 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include
Pensacola, Ferry Pass, Brent, West Pensacola, Wright, Fort Walton Beach, Ensley, Warrington, Niceville, Gonzalez, Destin, Eglin AFB, Pace, Valparaiso, Gulf Breeze, Goulding, Mary Esther, Bagdad, Ocean City and Lake Lorraine. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. && LAT

Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help. &&

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Additional heavy rainfall will be possible through the morning hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts of up to 5 inches possible.
