Wapaca Trail Weather Advisory
This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central
east central
south central and southeast Colorado.
DAY ONE
Today through Tonight Showers are expected across the mountains and valleys early today. Light snow can be expected along the higher terrain, generally less than 0.5 inches. Still, this may cause isolated slick spots along mountain road ways. In addition to that, patchy dense fog will be possible across the plains this morning, particularly for El Paso County.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday High impact and dangerous, life-threatening flooding is expected early next week as heavy precipitation impacts the San Juan Mountains Sunday and Monday. Moderate to Major flooding is likely across portions of the San Juan Mountains and adjacent San Luis Valley as this moisture works it way through the the river systems. Along with that, heavy, wet snow can be expected along the mountains Sunday and into Monday morning, especially across the San Juan Mountains. Snow will range from 12-16 inches across the San Juan Mountains, and 4-10 inches for the rest of the mountains. This snow may cause slick and dangerous travel conditions along mountain road ways, especially Sunday night into Monday morning.
