This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central
east central
south central and southeast Colorado.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Another hot day is expected today, however it will be a degree or two cooler today than yesterday. Temperatures today will range from 100 to 107 over most of the plains, with 90s in northern and central El Paso counties. Upper 80s to around 90 to low 90s will occur in the valleys. There will be an uptick in shower activity over the mountains and El Paso county this afternoon. Any of these convective showers will be capable of locally gusty winds of 50 to 60 mph.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Tuesday through Sunday For Tuesday, temperatures will be 2 to 3 degrees cooler than on Monday across the region. Nonetheless, it will still be hot. There will also be a continued increase in convective showers over the region, and some locally heavy rain will be possible over the higher terrain as monsoon moisture continues to increase over the region. For Wednesday, maximum temperatures will continue to cool a few degrees region-wide, and shower and thunderstorm activity will continue to increase over all of the region. Some locally heavy rain will be possible over the higher terrain. From Thursday into the weekend, a noticeable cooling trend is expected over the entire region. and a significant increase in shower and thunderstorm activity is likely. Some of this shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to be heavy. Flash flooding of burn scars and urban areas will be possible during this period.
