Hooper Weather Advisories
This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central
east central
south central and southeast Colorado.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight Showers are expected across the region today into early Thursday. Snow can be expected for the higher terrain, with rain and perhaps a thunderstorm or two for the valleys and plains. The main threat with any thunderstorms that do develop will be cloud to ground lightning and wind gusts to 45 mph. The heaviest snow will be along the central mountains, where 4-10 inches of snow is anticipated, with generally 1-4 inches for other ranges. Slick road conditions will be possible along mountain road ways. A quick blast of snow may be possible over Monument Hill this evening between 10 PM and midnight. An inch or two of snow is possible, reducing visibilities and creating slower travel conditions. Accumulation is not anticipated.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Thursday through Tuesday Light showers may be ongoing early in the day Thursday, with light snow along the higher terrain. These showers are expected to dissipate by mid to late morning. Another upper level disturbance will cross the region on Friday, bringing additional showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two to the higher terrain.
