This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central
east central
south central and southeast Colorado.
DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight It will be very hot today. Temperatures over most of the plains will be in the 100 to 108 range. Mid to upper 90s will occur over the lower elevations of EL paso county. 90s will occur across all of the San Luis Valley. A few isolated showers will be possible this afternoon as well, bringing lightning and gusty outflow to 50 mph to the southeast mountains and adjacent plains. A cool front will move across the region later this evening. It will become breezy to windy across the plains tonight, and scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible for a few hours. Winds could gusts as high as 50 mph, with outflow from passing storms reaching 60 mph.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Tuesday through Sunday It will be noticeably cooler on Tuesday. There will also be a chance of some showers and thunderstorms along the greater southern mountains region Tuesday afternoon. Hot temperatures will return to the region late in the week into this upcoming weekend. Only isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible from Wednesday onward to next weekend. Most of this activity will be along the Colorado and New Mexico border.
