DAY ONE
This Afternoon and Tonight Showers and thunderstorms will once again be possible this afternoon and well into the evening hours across the mountains and plains. Showers and storms are expected to get a late start later today, with the activity not pushing out onto the plains until very late afternoon or early evening. The overall best chance of showers and storms will be over the greater Pikes Peak region. Little if any rain is expected over the far southeast Plains today or tonight. Showers and storms are expected well into the night time hours over the plains, mainly along and north of highway 50. Some of the storms today over the plains, along and north of highway 50, may be marginally severe, producing wind gusts to 60 mph and quarter size hail.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Sunday through Friday Showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening will be a routine occurrence through the period. Some days may see a bit more activity while other days may see less, depending on the location of the monsoon plume. Based on latest guidance, the overall best chance of showers during this period may be midweek and a weak front interacts with the monsoon moisture. Any thunderstorms that form over the Aspen Acres burn scar could cause flash flooding.
