Cotopaxi Weather Advisory
This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central
east central
south central and southeast Colorado.
DAY ONE
Today and Tonight Isolated thunderstorms are forecast starting by midday today and lasting into the evening, with the best chances found along the southern border, and across the Palmer Divide. The main threats expected will be wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph and cloud to ground lightning.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
Monday through Saturday Available moisture increases starting Monday and lasts through the week, leading to greater shower and thunderstorm coverage and intensity. This will produce an elevated potential for flash flooding across area burn scars, especially late Tuesday night through Wednesday. Across the plains, thunderstorms will be more isolated to scattered in coverage, but could produce periods of moderate to heavy rainfall, and gusty outflow winds up to 50 mph. Lightning will be a risk with all thunderstorms.
SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT
Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be possible over portions of the region.
