Dangerous rip currents and breaking waves with isolated sets up to 6 feet due to elevated surf from southerly swells. WHERE
Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. WHEN
Through Monday afternoon. IMPACTS
There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
A series of southerly swells will continue to impact Southern California through much of next week.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks. &&

Hot daytime conditions with high temperatures between 85 and 103 common. Warm overnight conditions will bring less relief than usual. WHERE

Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion. &&
