BLOWING DUST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 PM MST THIS EVENING
EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MST THIS EVENING
WHAT
Scattered strong thunderstorms later this afternoon will produce wind gusts to 45 to 55 mph resulting in areas of blowing dust which will reduce visibilities to between one-quarter mile and one mile at times. Initial development of the blowing dust will be near Tucson then move to the west and northwest. Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures ranging between 104 to 110 degrees and low temperatures 79 to 85 degrees. Major to Extreme HeatRisk today. WHERE

Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far as possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all the way off and keep foot off the brake pedal. Remember, `Pull Aside, Stay Alive`. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. &&

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. WHERE
Tucson Metro Area, Southeast Pinal County, Tohono O`odham Nation, Upper San Pedro River Valley Upper Santa Cruz River Valley/Altar Valley, Baboquivari Mountains, Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Dragoon and Mule and Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountains. WHEN
From 11 AM MST this morning through late Sunday night. IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- An increase in moisture will bring scattered thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday. Rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour are expected with the stronger storms with isolated areas having the potential of 1-3 inches.
