Hot and dry weather will persist through this week with daily heat index values between 100 and 109 degrees. Low rain chances may eventually return to parts of the area late in the week, but widespread rainfall still appears unlikely. Severe to extreme drought has developed for parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, and continued dry weather will allow for localized fire weather concerns each day. weather.gov/tulsa contains additional information.
