Widespread rain and a few thunderstorms will continue to spread across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, with heaviest precipitation ending from west to east this afternoon through tonight. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour will be possible which may cause localized flooding issues especially in urban areas. Additionally, any storms will be capable of locally strong winds however the overall severe weather risk remains low. A cold front will push into the area late this evening or early Friday morning, causing gusty northerly winds to develop behind it. Occasional wind gusts 30 to 35 mph will be possible for a few hours behind the front. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT

Thunderstorm chances continue on Friday and Saturday primarily southeast of Interstate 44. Locally heavy rainfall may develop on Friday from southeast Oklahoma into northwest Arkansas.
