Thunderstorm chances continue into this evening as a frontal boundary and disturbance move across the region. The greater potential will be along and ahead of the front across southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Limited severe potentials exist into this evening with locally damaging wind gusts the primary threat with hail a secondary threat. Severe potentials weaken mid to late evening. Additional small shower and storm chances remain forecast overnight for parts of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas as the front holds over the region. Also, ahead of the frontal boundary into early evening, hot and humid conditions and ongoing heat stress remain over parts of southeast Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. Dangerous heat will continue for much of the upcoming week, with afternoon heat index values in the 100 to 110 degree range each day.
