Scattered showers and thunderstorms will press south the next few hours, mainly near or south of McAlester. Some of these storms may produce severe wind gusts. Additional thunderstorm activity may occur anywhere across the area overnight tonight, with the best chance across eastern Oklahoma. In terms of dangerous heat, it will persist through mid evening, then diminish during the overnight hours. With that said, temperatures will remain quite warm until late in the evening. A very hot pattern will continue for the next week, with dangerous heat at times. The pattern will generally remain dry for the next week, but there will be at least isolated showers and storms most days.
