Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue into early evening across portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Any storms which develop along and south of the Interstate 40 corridor could become strong to severe from late afternoon through early evening. Additionally, heat index values will rise into advisory levels this afternoon across portions of eastern Oklahoma generally west of Highway 75. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT

Thunderstorm chances will continue Tuesday and Wednesday though uncertainty remains in the overall coverage. Dangerous heat levels are likely to develop across portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas both Tuesday and Wednesday.
