- At 1243 PM AKDT, river gauge reports indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain across the advisory area. This will cause minor flooding from overflow of poor drainage areas. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible. - For Yentna River at Lake Creek: At 11:50am the stage was 20.2 feet. Flood Stage is 20.5 feet. Forecast: A crest around 20.9 feet is expected at 10:00am Tuesday. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Over the past 36 hours 1.0 to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen into the greater Susitna Valley drainage system. An additional 0.5 to 1.5 inches of rain is expected, primarily over the Talkeetna Mountains. Excessive runoff will cause water levels to rise along rivers, small creeks, and streams. Rainfall could become impactful to erosion-prone areas and low-lying or poor- drainage areas across the Susitna Valley and Talkeetna. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
